"I made this piece with industrial mosaic wastes; from the chaos of the forms, colors and material i found the order, the harmony and the peace. Half of my face born in to this with basic colors: black and white, dark and shadow.
Like in the big bang, the origin of life start from chaos; first the darkness, then the light...after all the colours came out. This is an alchemic process.
If you want take some piece of my chaos and use it to start your personal order!"

■ MOSAIC for Afghan Women

ーアフガニスタンの女性へモザイクに思いを込めて

東京展・京都展・大分展

 

世界中のモザイクアーティストが、アフガニスタン女性の伝統的な民族衣装をモザイクで表現するプロジェクトが進行しています。今回、国内アーティストの作品を統合し、大きなスカーフのオブジェとして展示します。アフガニスタンの豊かな文化が消え去ることなく復活し、女性たちが平等な権利を獲得することを願います。

The global art project, "Mosaic for Afghan Women" is now under way: Inspired by traditional Afghan dress, 1,000 mosaic artists of 50 countries have been making fascinating mosaic works to be integrated into large scarves and installed in public spaces in respective countries or areas. This exhibition displays about 40 works made by Japanese artists and a few Korean artists, as a large scarf. The mosaic artists together with people strongly hope to see the equality of rights and freedom of Afghan women and girls realized someday. 


 

 

 

■ モザイクにおける地域活動

京都を拠点に、モザイク普及にたずわるマルモザイコの活動を発表します。店舗や施設に作品を展示するなど、地域に根ざすアートプロジェクトを展開中。まちの至るところにモザイクを活用し、アートなまちづくりを目指します。
